Ball gags come in different shapes and sizes. Similar to ball gags you also have bits, clamps, ring gags, mouth spreaders, penis gags, combinations of ball gag with a head harness, and many more…
Size matters when it comes to a ball gag. Too small and someone would still be able to talk a little. Too big, and someone can experience pain in the jaws or lips. In sex shops and kinky stores, you mostly see ball gags of medium size and large size. Small ones are not that common.
Tip: before you start wearing a ball gag, make your lips wet. This will make it easier for the ball gag to place itself and it prevents your skin from getting stuck.
It is not easy to swallow whilst wearing a ball gag. Well, swallowing will work, but keeping your saliva inside your mouth is very difficult. On one side, this is because your tongue can not move very well and on the other side it is because you cannot put your lips together.
If you are a big fan of drooling, then try a wiffle gag. This is a gag made out of a little ball with holes in it. With this, it is completely impossible to close your mouth and you will drool all over your shirt. (if you’re wearing a shirt).
You probably want to tighten the belt of a ball gag very well. The ball gag needs to be placed behind the teeth and if you do not tighten the belt too much, then your partner could push the ball forward, maybe even completely outside of the mouth. That’s cheating!
When choosing a ball gag, then pay attention to how the belt sits in the corners of the mouth. The corners of the mouth are very sensitive and when the belt is too sharp or too big in these places, then it can actually start to hurt. That’s a shame, because now you need to take out that ball gag again and get the lip balm. Some ball gags do not even have a belt at the corners of the mouth, but instead they have a rubber band. This is much more comfortable for the corners of the mouth.
Tip: if you do not want to drool too much whilst wearing a ball gag, then keep your head backwards so that you can swallow your saliva. Do this when you have a relaxing moment, you do not want to choke whilst wearing a gag.
Some kinky shops allow you to try a ball gag before you buy one and we would recommend that. This way you know if the size is right for you and if it sits well in the corners of your mouth. Hygiene is important as well; the shop assistant can wrap the ball gag into some plastic or cling film so that you can try it on.
Ball gags are not made for comfort. They’re there to humiliate you and make life hard Certain circumstances even make wearing one a dangerous thing. When someone has a runny nose and mostly breathes through the mouth, it is not a good idea to make this person wear a ball gag. This can lead to vomiting and this also presents the danger of choking.
Someone wearing a ball gag should never be left alone.
And why should you… there are much more interesting things to do with someone who’s gagged than to just leave him alone. Imagine what you could say to them when there is no talking back. Imagine where your fingers could end up when there are no words but just facial expressions to stop you…
It is kinda hard to use safewords with a gag in 😉 So hand your submissive a ball or a small bell that they can let go of. The drop of that ball then signals that someone would have spoken a safeword if able to talk.
